Strixel Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
Strixel is a mobile and desktop game about running street-food carts, made by ManiX Studio ("we", "us"), an independent game studio based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This policy explains what the game collects, why, who else processes it, and how you can have it deleted. Questions: contact@manixstudio.com.
The short version
- We never ask for your name, email, age, phone number or precise location.
- The game uses a random install ID, not your identity. Game statistics are on by default and can be switched off in the menu; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask first.
- On phones, ads are shown only when you choose to watch one for a reward. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks you first. On iOS we never request tracking permission and never read the advertising identifier.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card or payment details.
- The menu has a "Delete my data" button that removes what our servers hold about your install.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Random install ID and session ID (generated by the game, not linked to you) | To tell sessions and installs apart in our statistics | When statistics are on |
| Game events: tutorial steps reached, screens opened, purchases and ads shown (marked as tests during testing), in-game currency changes, level-ups | To see where the game is confusing, too slow or too fast, and fix it | When statistics are on |
| Technical data: platform, app build, device model, memory, frame times, error messages from the game | To find crashes and slow devices | When statistics are on |
| Your game's input log (the moves you made, with timestamps) and its random seed | To replay a session exactly when investigating a bug or a suspicious score; the game is a deterministic simulation, so the log is the save | When statistics are on, and when you send feedback |
| Your street save, its share code, and the look of your avatar | So friends can find your street by its code, visit it and help it | Uploaded from time to time while you play online |
| Friend links, help given and received, and players you have blocked | To run the friends features and keep blocks in place | Only if you use the friends features |
| A feedback note you type, with your device model and save | To answer and fix what you report | Only when you press "Send feedback" |
Our servers also see the network address a request comes from, as any server does; we do not store it in our tables. We do not collect demographic data, contacts, photos, microphone or camera input, or precise location.
Ads (phones only)
Strixel shows rewarded ads through Google AdMob, only when you tap to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. The desktop version has no ads. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears before the first ad. You can change your choice at any time from "Privacy options" in the game's menu. If you do not consent, the game still works; ad rewards are simply unavailable.
- On iOS we do not request App Tracking Transparency permission and do not access the advertising identifier (IDFA); ads requested on iOS are non-personalised.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through Unity In-App Purchasing. We receive confirmation of what was bought so the game can deliver it. We never receive your payment card, billing address or account details.
Who processes the data
- SpacetimeDB (Clockwork Labs) hosts our game and statistics databases.
- Google AdMob serves rewarded ads and runs the consent form.
- Unity Technologies provides the game engine and the purchasing service.
- Apple and Google process purchases and distribute the game.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Legal basis (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Game statistics are processed with your consent, asked before anything is sent, and you can withdraw it in the menu. Your street save and the friends features are processed to provide the game's online features; feedback is processed to answer you. Ads use the consent you give in Google's form.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep data only as long as we need it to run and improve the game. You can delete it yourself: open the menu, tap "Delete my data" and confirm. This removes your statistics and uploaded play logs from our servers, clears them from your device and gives the game a new install ID. To delete your street or friends data, or if you cannot reach the button, email contact@manixstudio.com and we will remove it within 30 days. You may also ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
Children
Strixel is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers and security
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We use providers that protect data in transit and at rest, and our tables that hold play data are private to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be shown in the game.
